На спорте сегодня был rock climbing , и я почти сдал все зачеты. На English мы сегодня писали итоговые tests. Для меня тест был усложненным, но я надеюсь, что сдал его хорошо. В Nap time мы смотрели cartoon головоломка. Самый любимый момент в мультике это, когда все острова упали, и их нужно было спасти.

Сегодня мы выбирали, какой будем снимать movie, это наше задание на несколько дней. Нам достался adventure жанр. Я получил главную роль. Мы уже успели написать сценарий и снять две сцены. Потом я звонил родным, и рассказал, что у меня все хорошо. Они спрашивали меня, как мое здоровье, как дела в лагере. Вечером у нас было disco, где я зажигал, и мы получили jujus. Больше всего мне понравилось, когда мы повторяли движения по видео. В целом день мне понравился, и весь день I was happy!

Another day in paradise

Hello, everybody! I’m Maria, the Head Druid. I write you from our beautiful island. The weather is quite bad because it’s rainy and windy but we have a lot of warmth in our hearts, so between us it’s always sunny! We altogether make a special climate and atmosphere at our place. We like laughing, creating, learning, supporting and giving hugs to each other. This way we, children (tribes), teachers (druids, sporticuses and Artisa) and counselors (chiefs and the Chieftain) exchange positive energy. In English, of course! I’m super glad to tell you that we see kids’ good progress in English, especially the youngest. It’s so nice to see how using our unique specially designed program they learn to make words from letters and start to read. About the elder participants I should notice that they are really good in speaking, especially in descripting pictures and finding differences between two of them. In addition to their English lessons during the school year they have a lot of practice here with our foreign guests and during all the lessons where we also use English. But my favorite part of all is performances and films which our young islanders create by themselves, in English at all stages: they find ideas, write a screenplay, choose roles, find or create props, costumes, music, use special effects and present it to the audience. I like it so much because this is a complex type of work including communication, cooperation, working in a team, creating new things with your imagination and all of these — using your foreign language a lot.

There is also a very important and hidden thing. When you work on a project like this you can try on many different roles in a team. Every time a kid can try something new and finally understand what he is particularly good at. I believe it’s essential for us to create conditions for an all-round development for a young person. And English is just an instrument to serve a bigger idea.
