Lion Fish is our name!

Hello everyone,

I’m Evita. Today I want to tell you about our first day in MMC. We woke up at 8 am and had a warm up. After the warm up we had some time for cleaning up and went to breakfast. There were pancakes, porridge, some fruits and sandwiches. Breakfast was so delicious as usual. After breakfast we had a common meeting where we learnt about important information of the day. At 10 am we had sports, it was hot outside, so we swam in the pool. It was very fun, we had water guns and also we played water polo. Then we had some free time to take shower and change our clothes. Then we had shipyard where we made a picture frame with a clay. After that we had a group time. We created our names and mottos. My crew which is the red crew chose the name “Lion fish”. Our motto is “we are lions, we are fish. We can use you like a dish. First, you will feel a bit of fear. So beware, we are always near”.

Next was English lesson. I really like the way of teaching here in MMC. We learnt more facts about our teammates. We had lunch and then nap time. Some of us were sleeping and others were talking and applying makeup. In the evening, we had shipmates’ shinding. It was a dancing competition. I am a helper, so I was tasked to help leading the competition. I’m really happy that I am a helper. I really love spending time in MMC. I think every kid must go to MMC at least once.

That’s all for now. It was an amazing day. Wait for updates 🤗

Hey everyone!!

It happened to be a warm Monday and the first full day of the session at MMC. Everybody at MMC, including the staff and kids, was cheerful and eager to make the most of the day despite the weather being warm.

I’m David, also known by my sea name «Crab.» I’m originally from Ghana and currently studying at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. English is my native language, but I see myself as a global citizen thanks to my diverse experiences and fluency in English.

We started the day with a fun warm-up that got everyone, kids and staff alike, moving and energized. This activity set a cheerful mood for the rest of the day. After the warm-up, the kids tidied their rooms before heading to breakfast. While the yellow and green crew enjoyed their meal, the blue and red crew held their morning group gathering where we checked in on everyone’s health, which is always our top priority and learnt our words of the day and selected the watchman of the day which is the leader of the day. The role of this watchman is to represent the crew during common meetings. After breakfast, we had our first common meeting of the day where commander Alena  and the staff team tasked all the crew to create their names and mottos which should be related to the topic of the session. Thereafter, each crew brainstormed and selected their names and mottos. My group proudly chose the name ‘Lionfish,’ sparking lots of laughter and creativity.

Moreover, kids had their first English lesson of the session. They found it both enjoyable and interesting. Also, kids had their shipyard lesson where the kids made picture frames to keep their pictures and interestingly, I also made one. After lunch, we had a peaceful nap time to recharge. In the evening, we hosted a shipmates’ shindig where each group showed off their dance skills, and it was incredibly fun! We wrapped up the day with a mini disco, dancing away any lingering stress. In spite of all this, I feel compelled to extend special acknowledgment to my colleague captain, Alina. She truly stands out as an exceptional person!

If I could go back in time and experience my early years over again, going to MMC in Nerekhta would definitely be at the top of my wish list. Now, I’m incredibly happy being a captain of the red crew and experiencing childhood’s carefree joys via the eyes of these amazing kids. If anyone could recommend a trip that’s even more exciting than this one, they’d probably be making jokes!

MMC !! the best English camp for your kids!

David Owusu Ahenkan, Red crew captain
