We are one team!

Today we woke up at 8 o’clock, made our beds and brushed our teeth, and then we went outside. Then our sport instructors Vlad and Keaton did a warm up with us. Of course good food brings a good mood, so we went to the canteen to have our breakfast. Читать далее…

During tribe time we worked in our team, learned a new word of the day, saying and tongue-twister. In the workshop we made bird’s feeder. For it we mixed flour and water then took seeds and put this mixture in the cooking cutter. I like it very much. The next lesson was english. We had test preparation. I think I need more lessons like this because I want to pass my test. In the sport lesson we had rockclimbing. I really enjoyed it, this lesson was cool. Then we had second tribe time, we played different games together. After we had lunch, I was so hungry! In the evening we get our phones and I called my parents.

In stations at option I made bird origami. After that we played «Sounds of nature» and we won! I was so happy! I knew we could do it because we are one team!

Today was my 3rd day at camp. The theme of the day was nature, and the kids really seemed to love that, especially the parts with animals! Working with the kids over the past four days has truly been a joy. Although there is a communication barrier between us (I don’t speak too much Russian yet), I feel like I have been able to get to know and understand all of the kids that I work with, and A bond has been formed between us, which brings a smile to my face. The kids are fantastic, and I really enjoy spending time with them. My partner is also fantastic. She translates everything that I don’t know for me, and is always working hard to make sure that the kids have the best time at camp as possible. I am from the USA, and so living in Nerehta has certainly been a new experience for me. Often times it can be overwhelming to be so immersed in a culture that I previously had no experience with. However, I have loved being where I am. The town is beautiful, the people are very friendly, and the team that I work with is the best I could ever have hoped for. So, in conclusion, even though working in this camp so far from home is difficult, I love doing it. The Children and my teammates make the experience outstanding. There’s truly no place I’d rather be.
